Helping faculty and staff take control of their money

Higher education employees are taking advantage of the retirement plans provided by their employers and saving at rates that exceed Fidelity’s recommended 15%.1 While most higher education employees are on track with long-term retirement goals, short-term money goals may be falling behind.

Recent reports indicate that faculty and staff are facing increasing challenges with financial confidence and wellness.

When asked about their financial situation2:

  • 32% feel stressed about their current financial situation
  • 50% say they are just getting by or feeling overwhelmed about their spending
  • 57% are overwhelmed about saving for emergencies, with nearly half having less than 3 months of savings

Fidelity is ready to help faculty and staff better plan for the short- and long-term by giving employees confidence to make informed financial decisions.
